Delete your FamFish account
Public account and data deletion instructions for FamFish 1.0. Read how personal data is erased, how the 14-day grace period works, and how shared family records are handled.
In-App Account Deletion Path
You can permanently delete your FamFish account directly from within the mobile app without needing to contact support. Follow these steps on your device:
- Open the FamFish app and navigate to your Profile tab.
- Tap Settings (gear icon).
- Select Account & Security.
- Scroll down to the Danger Zone section.
- Tap Delete Account and confirm your deletion request.
How the Deletion Process Works
1. Submission of Request
When you tap Delete Account in the app, your deletion request is registered immediately in our secure backend.
2. 14-Day Cancellation Grace Period
A 14-day grace period begins. During these 14 days, you can sign in to cancel the deletion request if you change your mind.
3. Family Administration Transfer
If you are the sole adult owner/administrator of an active family workspace, you must transfer family administrator responsibility to another eligible adult before your account deletion can be finalized.
4. Final Erasure
After the 14-day grace period expires without cancellation, permanent data removal and anonymization are executed automatically.
What is Deleted vs. What May Remain
Permanently Deleted / Anonymized
- Authentication credentials, password hashes, and user login records in Supabase Auth.
- Personal identifying profile information (display name, email, birthday, avatar photo).
- Personal health, hydration, and activity logs synchronized from Android Health Connect.
- Push notification device registration tokens (Firebase Cloud Messaging).
- Personal receipt scans and account-specific private files.
- Private 1:1 direct message threads involving your account.
Shared Family Content (Anonymized)
To prevent corrupting shared household history for remaining family members, collective collaborative records created within the family workspace may remain preserved:
- Family group chat messages and shared photos.
- Shared calendar events and scheduled household reminders.
- Collaborative project roadmaps, shared notes, and task board items.
- Recorded household expenses and budget summaries.
In all remaining shared family records, identifying author information is permanently stripped and anonymized so that the deleted individual is no longer identifiable.
